Compensation: $85,000–$110,000 CAD annually, commensurate with experience
Position Summary
Cloud Produce Agricultural Technologies Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and support mechanical systems for fully autonomous robotic vertical farms. The role involves mechanical design, industrial automation, embedded systems integration, manufacturing support, and on-site commissioning. The successful candidate will contribute to both ongoing project delivery and long-term engineering capability within the company.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, analyze, and develop mechanical systems and assemblies for automation, robotics, and engineered equipment.
• Apply structural analysis to validate designs for safety, performance, and manufacturability.
• Produce engineering models, specifications, and documentation in accordance with industry standards.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and mechanisms that interface with robotic and automated systems, accounting for clearance, tolerances, and serviceability.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and installation, including coordination with fabricators and suppliers.
• Participate in commissioning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving for mechanical systems in active production environments.
• Optimize designs using DFM/DFA principles to reduce cost, part count, and assembly time.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (automation, controls, software, manufacturing) to ensure system integration and operational performance.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical design for industrial automation, robotics, or engineered equipment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD), FEA tools, and engineering documentation standards.
• Practical experience supporting deployed systems in live production or operational settings.
• Knowledge of embedded systems interfaces, robotics integration, and on-site commissioning is an asset.

• Ability to translate design intent into practical mechanical solutions for robotic/automation systems.
• Strong analytical, project management, and team collaboration skills.
• Capability to work independently and mentor junior engineers as needed.
